The challenge
Digital transformation promises great potential in procurement! At the same time, however, relationships between suppliers and buyers need to be developed and deepened.
"simple system strengthens the direct relationship with our customers and also supports digitalization on their side. "
Marcus Waldeis Manager Customer eBusiness Solutions, Viking Office Deutschland GmbH
"With simple system, Viking can manage its customers' product ranges independently and individually. In addition to the regular adaptation of seasonal products, flexibility also means adapting to changes in demand in unforeseen situations. For example, the pandemic led to a shift in product ranges. Here too, simple system supports the flexible inclusion of new product groups in the product ranges. Self-service allows us to act quickly and individually, so that customers have direct access to the goods they need, giving us an enormous market advantage. This in turn also has the advantage that open communication and simple applications turn a satisfied buyer into a loyal buyer, which strengthens the relationship on both sides. . What convinced us above all about simple system are
- the acceleration and simplification of our internal processes
- the flexibility and simplicity of integration and communication
- the platform's self-service, both on the customer and supplier side"
"Talking openly about agreements, opportunities and challenges and finding solutions together is our proven partnership approach."

The result
The connection to the simple system platform promotes collaboration for a completely digital order transmission process. Viking receives machine-readable digital orders as EDI orders via simple system, which are transferred directly to the systems and continue to run there without interruption. Marcus Waldeis explains: "When a user sends a shopping cart from Viking via simple system, the order is available directly in our merchandise management system. The fully automated warehouse then immediately starts processing the order. The parcel is then transported directly to our picking system via the conveyor belts in the warehouse so that no manual intervention is required and everything runs digitally."
